TRIBUTE SHOWS BRING THE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL YEARS BACK TO LIFE

Published: 14th January 2020

The sounds of the 1950s and 60s will be rocking The Customs House as two leading tribute shows take to the stage. Buddy Holly: A Legend Reborn will celebrate the music of Buddy Holly, featuring hits such as Peggy Sue, Oh Boy and Heartbeat, on Sunday, January 19, at 7.30pm. The Vintage Boys will perform the classics and give a vintage twist to modern-day hits on Sunday, February 2, at 7.30pm.

Buddy Holly: A Legend Reborn sees Marc Robinson clutching a Fender Stratocaster, sporting a pair of heavy-rimmed spectacles and sounding exactly like Buddy in his heyday.
This all-new production celebrates an artist who shot straight into the limelight as soon as That’ll Be The Day hit the radio.Although his career was cut short by that fateful plane crash, this one-man powerhouse gave the world a stack of hits that will never be forgotten. With immaculate three-part harmony, slick choreography, sharp suits and the backing of an incredible live band, The Vintage Boys perfectly capture the look and sound of the rock ‘n’ roll era and will have you singing and dancing in the aisles. The shows features over 40 hits from the likes of Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Del Shannon, Bill Haley, Dion, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, The Beatles and Elvis Presley. It also features a taste of what today’s music would sound like in the 1950s and 60s.

Between them, The Vintage Boys have performed in theatres and concert halls worldwide, including Her Majesty’s Theatre and the Royal Albert Hall, as well as performing roles in Jersey Boys and We Will Rock You. Ray Spencer, Executive Director of The Customs House, said: “It’s great to start the year with some fantastic music. Any fans of this era will not be disappointed.”
