Hey Creatives – We Want To Hear From You

Published: 6th April 2021

We’d like to invite creatives from across the NE to attend an online conversation about The Customs House.

During our closure, we have been reflecting on how we can do things better, and one of those areas that we recognise needs development is ensuring that our commissioning and programming policy is visible, and that our opportunities for creatives to engage with us are clearer and are genuine.

As part of this process, we’d like to reach out to creatives from across South Tyneside, and the region to have a facilitated conversation about how we could do this better, what is your perception of us is; good and bad, and how we can begin to develop activity from within our artistic community which will become part of our programme. We are really aware that this is a long process, but also recognise that we have to make a start.

Over the last 25 years, we have developed a range of artistic and creative talent, and are very much a treasured part of the Borough, but we have more to do to ensure that we have mechanisms for developing creative ideas and practice from within our community, and that we are more forthright and transparent with the opportunities that we can offer.

They will be facilitated by Sarah Brigham who is the Artistic Director/CEO of Derby Theatre via Zoom. There are two sessions available both following the same discussion points, so you only need to attend one.

Tuesday April 13th 5.00-6.30 and Friday April 16th 12.00-1.30 (with BSL Interpreter)
