Teachers! Get More Out of The Lambton Worm
Published: 28th September 2017
We’re so excited, the countdown to The Lambton Worm has begun. Many schools return every year to see The Customs House Pantomime. Why wouldn’t they? Our stellar cast give hilarious performances. The sets and costumes are stunning, unlike any other. Create special memories for your whole school family. If you haven’t booked already call Box Office Manager Angela Hannon on 0191 427 8183. For certain shows we can even help organise coaches to get you here with minimum fuss.
Phew! Now you’re booked let’s talk about the exciting ways you can connect your trip to your school’s creative curriculum. There are lots of ways to get involved, with expert support from our friendly Learning and Participation team.
Take Part in Our Schools’ Drawing Challenge
We want your pupils’ drawings, inspired by our pantomime The Lambton Worm. A selection of these drawings will be shown in our Step Up Gallery. The Step Up Gallery celebrates the amazing creative talent of children across South Tyneside. Your student’s drawings can be in any material but must be on A4 paper. Will you use pens, pencils, paint, pastels, collage or something else? Will you draw the worm or Puddles the dog? You could create portraits of Dame Bella, Arbuthnot or John Lambton? Maybe create a landscape? Or you could focus on the impressive architecture of Penshaw Monument? We know we will be wowed by your great ideas.
Drop your drawings off at The Customs House Box office. Please make sure they are in a folder marked for the attention of Elizabeth Kane. Alternatively, scan and email your drawings to Elizabeth@customshouse.co.uk. Whichever way you choose to get your school’s drawings to us include a teacher’s contact details and your school name. We need all the children’s drawings by October 31st 2017. This will give us time to install the exhibition before your visit. We’ve already had our first folder packed with incredible drawings from Biddick Infants School. What will your worm look like? Please note we cannot return your drawings and we may use them in print and online.
Help Your Children Achieve an Arts Award
Maybe you want something more in depth? Book a schools’ workshop and achieve an Arts Award!
