Learning and Participation at The Customs House is looking for three dance groups from North and South Tyneside to perform at a special event in March 2017.

Step Up and Dance is The Customs House’s dance platform for the two boroughs and a fantastic opportunity for groups to perform on a professional stage in front of a public audience.

Groups will also have the opportunity to take part in the Pulse progression element – with up to two groups chosen to perform at Dance City in Newcastle on Sunday 2nd April. To take part in Pulse, groups must be made up of 11-19 year olds (and disabled young people up to the age of 24). Groups performing at the Dance City event then have the chance to be selected to represent the North East in Manchester in July.

The event places an emphasis on new and original choreography set to interesting soundtracks. Performances must be no longer than 7 minutes with groups of no more than 20 dancers. There is no fee for taking part in Step Up and Dance.

Step Up and Dance will take place on Tuesday 14th March 2017 at 7pm with tickets just £5.

To get involved in Step Up and Dance or to find out more, email by Friday 16th December.
