Box Office Assistant

Location: The Customs House, Mill Dam, South Shields
Reporting to: Box Office Manager
Contract: Part time (hours to be confirmed) Age related pay as per National Living/Minimum wage

Purpose of the job:
An enthusiastic and focused individual who is approachable and friendly. Your role will be to support the Box Office Manager & Operations Team in their role to deliver a first-class customer experience. The successful candidate will be required to deputise for the Box Office Manager and therefore have a clear understanding of how to run the Box Office in their absence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To assist in all duties related to the daily running of the Box Office including reconciliation of banking, daily summary and monthly reports, face to face and telephone enquiries
2. To be the face of the organisation as part of the reception & box office team
3. To meet and greet visitors and members of the public in an approachable, friendly and courteous manner at all times
4. To be fully efficient in the use of box office systems
5. To be able to use the booking system accurately
6. To use your initiative and think outside of the box when at work
7. To be consistent and thorough in your role
8. To always deliver great customer service
9. To deal with difficult customers in a professional and polite manner
10. To follow basic house rules set by The Customs House Management team
11. To follow all Health & Safety regulations as stated in The Customs House Handbook
12. To manage your time efficiently and professionally
13. To maintain a professional workstation and leave it in an orderly manner for other colleagues
14. To be flexible regarding availability to work additional hours as per business requirements
15. To perform other additional duties as required by The Customs House
16. To maintain an up to date knowledge of the programming schedule

Qualifications:
NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service (Desirable)
GCSE (or equivalent) Maths (Essential)
GCSE (or equivalent) English (Essential)

Experience / Knowledge:
CRM / Ticketing System experience (Desirable)
Cash handling (Essential)
Customer Care (Essential)
Computer skills (Essential)
Professional conduct and efficient communication skills (Essential)
