The Takeover Festival
The Takeover Festival, a cornerstone event in The Customs House’s annual calendar, is back for 2024.
Takeover is our week long Festival which is produced, planned and delivered by a diverse team of 13-18 year olds. We hosted a packed programme of events with some of our old favourites returning such as BreakOver, one of the UK’s top Youth Breaking Jams, delivered with Just Jam Int and Bad Taste Cru. On Friday 31st we saw a brand new play debuted from our Young Writer in Residency and back by popular demand we once again hooked up a Nintendo Switch to our huge 220 inch cinema screen for another round of our Esports tournament, where players battled it out on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Throughout the week we also had a range of Pay What You Decide workshops and events open for all to get involveded in.
This year we were proudly funded by the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust. The Trust’s generous funding enabled us to elevate the Takeover Festival to new heights, creating a vibrant platform for emerging artists and performers.
