Express Yourself!
International Women’s Day Exhibition
Celebrating Women’s Identity Through Art
8th March – 8th April
As part of International Women’s Day 2022, local women’s groups are exploring the arts as a means of self expression.
At different times in our lives many of us experience isolation or find ourselves in a situation where we’re unable to find a positive outlet. Over the last few years, due to the worldwide pandemic, general mental health and well being have declined dramatically. This has impacted women especially hard.
In response to these challenges, local organisations have furthered their creative activities online and, when possible, in face to face meetings. These local groups are providing a positive contribution to women’s health and wellbeing, reducing social isolation, building relationships, creating space for self care and using creativity for resilience against challenging circumstances.
The diverse work on display in this exhibition is a sample of their creativity.
