Filmmakers Receive Custom-Made Workshop
Published: 26th June 2017
Inspiring industry professionals delivered tailor-made workshops for our resident filmmakers to help them develop a range of skills.
Magali Pettier, director of Addicted to Sheep, and Gavin Williams, writer of forthcoming film Await Further Instructions, led two one-hour workshops for our filmmakers, giving them a crash-course in camera skills and screenwriting. Magali Pettier, whose documentary film has screened internationally, used the time to help the young people improve shot composition and lighting while Gavin Williams helped participants come up with original ideas for their current projects.
One group member, Neve, commented, “It was great to learn from Magali again as we had been taught by her before, but I also really loved the writing workshop, which was really helpful.”
The young filmmakers, who are currently making 60-second films, are also set to meet North East based film producer, Maria Caruana Galizia, from Candle and Bell in the coming weeks.
Filmmaking workshops for 13-19 year olds take place every Thursday from 5-7pm at The Customs House. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0191 427 8193 to find out more about Filmmaking at The Customs House. Films by the group can be found on their YouTube page.
