Exhibition Preview Thursday 24th May 6-8pm
Published: 21st May 2018
Join us at The Customs House for David G Wilkinson’s exhibition preview ‘Sea, Sky and River: Fixing the line about its edge’ this Thursday between 6-8pm in the Upper Fusion Gallery. The exhibition runs 16 April – 31 August 2018
David’s paintings and drawings are subtle and layered. His recognisable, figurative views and abstract pieces play with space. You as the viewer are asked to explore them closely and perhaps see beyond the picture.
Alongside the exhibition David will be taking up residence in the Upper Fusion gallery space. Please come and visit the artist at work on Monday 11 June (10am – 3pm) or Monday 18th June (10am – 3pm).
We hope to see you at the preview on Thursday 24th May between 6-8pm.
David G. Wilkinson has made art since leaving Sunderland School of Art in the late 70’s. He designed the murals on Commercial Road in South Shields and others in the town and around Tyne & Wear. He worked for more than thirty years teaching in a local college Art and Design Department. David has exhibited abroad, in this country and has work in public and private collections.
This exhibition is part of a wider project called Painting The River, supported by The Children’s Foundation.
