In his solo exhibition at The Customs House, David G. Wilkinson brings together work that represents his ongoing exploration of our local, coastal landscape. His paintings and drawings depicts the sea, sky and river and how they change from moment to moment.

‘With my eyes looking down and in, deep, through things, then turning through the horizon, upwards and out. Vast and tiny. Perhaps through a microscope, binoculars, camera, telescope, or none of those, just my imagination’.

David’s paintings and drawings are subtle and layered. His recognisable, figurative views and abstract pieces play with space. You as the viewer are asked to explore them closely and perhaps see beyond the picture.

Alongside the exhibition David will be taking up residence in the Upper Fusion gallery space. Please come and visit the artist at work on Monday 11 June (10am – 3pm) or Monday 18th June (10am – 3pm).

We hope to see you at the preview on Thursday 24th May between 6-8pm.
