Christmas Vacancies- Santa’s Helpers

We are looking for up to ten young people (aged 16 and over) to work during our pantomime season to sell merchandise as Santa’s Helpers. We are particularly looking to appoint young people who have a passion for the performing arts as we are looking for outgoing and confident individuals who would be comfortable engaging with our audiences and be dynamic in their sales techniques.

Salary                Age related pay as per National Living/Minimum wage + Commission

Principle purpose of post:

Sale of merchandise for our pantomime during our busy festive season.

Key tasks of the post:  

The Customs House are looking for up 10 young people (aged 16 and over) to work as Santa’s Helpers during this year’s Pantomime.

Santa’s Helpers will be in festive costume, and sell merchandise to customers during the performances, in the foyer and theatre before shows. We’re looking for people who are outgoing, great at selling merchandise, and able to cope with a busy and fast-paced environment.  We’re particularly interested in recruiting young people who have a background and interest in the performing arts to utilise their creative talents.

Santa’s Helpers will need to be available to work during evening and weekend shows from 20th November 2017 until 10th January 2018.

There will be compulsory half day training on cash handling and sales techniques prior to starting.

Interview process:

There will be a group interview at The Customs House, followed by an informal one-to-one on your suitability for the role.

Further Information:

The role includes unsociable working hours including weekends and late evenings. Therefore flexibility is required within the role.  We can only accept applicants that are available to work from 20th November until 10th January 2018.
