Bank Holiday Monday Takeover Festival Special Edition Mini Maker and Mega Makers!

Published: 26th May 2017

The takeover special editionMini and Mega Makers are the perfect groups for your little ones to explore, create and make. Each session has a different theme, for this Takeover special edition the craft activities are inspired by summer festivals. Our Mini and Mega Makers will be exploring some unusual materials. We will be painting glow in the dark pictures, weaving dream-catchers and creating groovy festival specs.
Elizabeth Kane learning officer said,
“It’s a great idea. It’s been fun sourcing the glow in the dark pigments. We’re excited to see what they children make and exactly how bright the paints shine.”
Beth O’Doherty, who was part of the Takeover Team last year, now helps with Mini Makers and Mega Makers will be on hand to help. She said,
“I have volunteered at The Customs House for the past year helping with Mini Maker Mondays. It’s great to be able to help young people enjoy the arts. This session is going to be loads of fun and quite special as The Takeover week is when I first really got involved at The Customs House.”
Elizabeth praised Beth’s hard work,
“Beth has been a massive help. It’s great fun working alongside her. I can’t thank her enough. A number of young people who worked on The Takeover have continued to help out at The Customs House. The Takeover Team were a brilliant bunch.”
