Joe McElderry Helps Sunfest Students Shine and SunFest Promo Video

South Shields singing star Joe McElderry supported students as they began staging a month-long takeover at The Customs House. Joe, who rose to fame when he won ITV’s The X-Factor in 2009 and has since carved out a successful solo music career, returned to the Customs House on Monday (April 29) - the venue where it all began. He was here to help officially launch Sunfest, the annual creative arts partnership. He talked to students about his own experiences in the industry and performed his songs Someone Wake Me Up and What have I Done on stage delighting the packed theatre.
