The Customs House – Gallery Assistant
Salary - £14,430 per annum, pro rata. Part-time post fixed term until 31 January 2016
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Gallery & Cultural Development team at The Customs House. The Customs House is the main arts venue in South Tyneside.
We are looking for a part-time (3 days / 21 hours per week) Gallery Assistant to assist in the coordination and delivery of the Gallery and Visual Arts programme for The Customs House.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Gallery Curator who is currently undertaking a three day per week secondment with the University of Sunderland for the regional drawing? project, which runs alongside The Customs House’s Year of Drawing 2015. Key to thispost is the management and delivery of Gallery Engagement and Outreach for YoD 2015 and drawing? specific to The Customs House’s Gallery Programme and ensuring successful delivery of the exhibition programme working with the Gallery Curator.
The post holder will be committed to the creation and promotion of excellent arts and cultural programmes that engage, inspire and involve participants of all ages and abilities, encourage new and diverse audiences and enhance the wellbeing of the communities we work with.
This is a hands on role that will provide the appointed person with lots of opportunities for training and personal development within a regional arts venue and be part of a small, but dynamic team.
